Computers 101

Everyone needs to start some place, and the best place to start is the beginning.

When you talk about computers you hear the terms hardware and software.  The words themselves don't mean very much.  The best way to think about it is that hardware is the stuff you can kick when it isn't working like you want it to.  Software is something you can't touch.  Things that are hardware include, the computer (which is made up of many different pieces), monitor, keyboard, speakers, etc.  Software is the programs that you run, Internet Explorer, Windows, Word, Excel, games, etc.
